Hundreds of thousands of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders have deep roots in Virginia. From raising children to taking care of loved ones, AAPI’s fight everyday to provide for their families and a decent life.
The Asian American Pacific Islander Civic Engagement (ACE) Collaborative seeks to build the a broad Pan-Asian movement in Virginia. This is a project of New Virginia Majority, a grassroots racial and economic justice organization that builds power in Virginia’s working-class communities of color.
ACE Collaborative’s long-term strategy is to educate and mobilize a diverse AAPI community including people with roots in South Asia, East Asia, South East Asia, Pacific Islands, and of multiple faith backgrounds including Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, and more, as a way to increase electoral power. Within the broader context of social justice movements in Virginia, our goal is to ensure that we make links between this emerging, diverse electorate with all allied communities, to become stronger together.
